What we offer:
Counselling: Offering a safe space and a supportive environment to enable you to explore and process your emotions is paramount. As an integrative counsellor, I can help facilitate this exploration for you. Only when we open ourselves up can we feel, respect and integrate the rollercoaster we find ourselves on. This process can be hard and will
often require courage, but it can also be an opportunity to experience joy, celebration and catharsis.
Cognitive behavioural support: Practical therapeutic support is considered fundamental in a healthy grieving process: whilst the temptation may be to emphasise our emotions and how we feel, grieving can equally be about how we function and how we can ensure we are not overwhelmed by the myriads of emotions which can threaten to overwhelm us when experiencing grief. I can offer practical support to manage the likes of: low mood, lack of motivation, anxiety, problematic
sleep, effective communication, etc… having designed and delivered hundreds of presentations as a colleague wellbeing trainer within the NHS.
Psychoeducation: Grief is ok. It makes perfect sense. Often society can hide away from grief fearful of besetting each of us with our own existential dread. However, it is normal and, crucially, understandable. Contemporary science and neuroscience tells us just that. Whilst therapy will prioritise your own journey first and foremost, the ability to
offer insight into why and how we experience what we do can be powerful: it can help normalise and not trivialise our feelings.
Personal Grief Rituals: Personal grief rituals are a powerful tool to enable long term wellbeing. Under careful therapeutic supervision we can explore your personal expression of grief and collaboratively work towards the design of a grief ritual which is both respectful to your memory and meaningful. Whether it be maintaining a healthy continuing bond or enabling you to integrate your loss to help you to move forwards in life; personal grief rituals can teach us much about our own ways of being and how we can each grieve healthily in our own way.
Group Classes: Conducted as either a series of six or offered as individual sessions, our group classes offer the opportunity to learn about the impact of losing your loved one and help you to make sense of the variety of ways your loss can impact: your life; your mental health; how your brain works; how to manage difficult conversations with those who fail to understand you; and how you can, when ready, move forwards with your life.
